TONIGHT: “Not the Answer NC Photo Shoot” & Surfrider Meeting
OIL JOBS ARE ESTIMATES. OUR JOBS OUR REAL
Time to put some human faces on our billion-dollar coastal industries numbers.
The next phase of the offshore drilling fight is already ramping up. We need every local voice if we’re to win this round. Fishermen, teachers, waiters, bankers — if you earn money here, your livelihood depends on a clean healthy coastline. Come out to Outer Banks Brewing Station TONIGHT (Feb. 20), from 6-9pm as we take the next steps to fight, including:
1. Shooting fresh portraits for our www.nottheanswernc.org web page to illustrate the more than 13,000 jobs — and $1.1 billion — that tourism generates in Dare Co alone. (Photography by @Julie Dreelin and @Daniel Pullen)
2. Get the latest on ways to speak out, such as: phone numbers for legislators and PR opportunities like the St Patrick’s Day parade.
3. Learn facts/figures you can share to sway public opinion.
4. Share your ideas and learn how to do more!
Show your support for the “NO OFFSHORE OIL” campaign and the Surfrider Foundation, Outer Banks Chapter. Come whenever you’re able between 6 and 9pm, they’ll make it as quick as possible unless you want to stay and find out how you can help which will be around 7. See you all tonight!
