Photo Gallery: December 2014 Nor’Easter (21 photos)
Hello winter! December is here and so are the cold water swells that come along with it. December 10 is the end result of a powerful Nor’Easter that caused some coastal damage. There was plenty of sand and debris in Kitty Hawk all the way down to Buxton where the Motels took yet another massive beating. Raging winds as much as 50 mph were clocked all up and down the Outer Banks and it produced one hell of a swell. The Atlantic ocean came alive with buoy readings in the 15 foot range at over 12 seconds. Once the winds switched, there were plenty of surfers patiently waiting for that perfect moment to paddle out. Below are a few shots from photographers: Mickey 2M McCarthy, Josh Johnson, Jon Carter and Jordan Bartholomew. enjoy
