Beach Clean-Up This Weekend! (October 11, 2014)
For anyone who likes a clean beach, this weekend is for you… and your family…. and your friends. The Surfrider Foundation Outer Banks Chapter is hosting the 2014 BIG SWEEP beach clean-up this Saturday, October 11. From 9am-noon you can pick up trash bags and data cards at the following locations:
- Kitty Hawk Kayak and Surf School (free kayak rentals!)
- Byrd Street
- Kitty Hawk Bath House
- Avalon Pier
- KDH Bath House
- Bonnett St Access
- Jennette’s Pier.
Clean the beach, fill out the card and turn it in at Trashfest at the Outer Banks Brewing Station from 12-4pm for live music, food, and beverages. It’s a great way to give back to our beach community and feel good about yourself!
Also, if you’re further up North and want to help clean the beaches in Duck & Corolla, Corolla Surf Shop is sponsoring a Beach Clean-Up on October 10, 11 & 12. Simply pick up trash bags at Corolla Surf Shop and return your trash to them when your done! They will take care of the rest.
