Artist Spotlight: Barbara Noel
Barbara Noel fell in love with the Outer Banks’ pristine beaches and picturesque landscapes and decided to move here in 1998. Her love of art in High School inspired her to pursue a successful career in graphic design. In recent years, Barbara has rekindled her passion for painting and capturing the beauty of our Outer Banks surroundings as well as her travels. Her art is ocean-influenced, infused with vivid colors and an imaginative interpretation of beach scenes, waves, classic beach cottages and wildlife. Her paintings reflect her time spent on the beach, absorbing the sunshine and the scenes around her.
Noel graduated from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and splits her time with her graphic design business and creating artwork. Currently her work is available to view or purchase at Farm Dog Surf School in Nags Head, Max’s Pizza in Kitty Hawk and The Island Attic in Duck. Her work may also be viewed on her website at OBXBarb.com. In her free time, Noel enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling and enjoying live music. She resides on Colington Island with her dog Bruno and her cat named Oscar.
