Hurricane Gonzola, Part 2 – An EPIC Kiteboarding Session on Oct. 16
Not only were surfers getting anxious about the building swell from Hurricane Gonzola, the kiteboarders were already playing in it. Here’s a quick story from our Kiteboarding Reporter Dimitri Maramenides from EPIC Kites:
After doing my wind forecast for www.OBXsurfinfo.com, I decided to head down to Avon so I can catch some wind and waves before the big storm. So I got to Avon around 8:25 am with my Web Designer since I could not find any photographer to come with me because of the last minute call. Once I arrived to “The Canadian Hole” parking lot south of Avon I met few customers that wanted to demo the SURF kite in the ocean since they are surfers. So we rigged 3 SURF kites and took our surfboard out for a down winder. Only 2 of us made it.
