“Artist Spotlight” – Meg Rubino
Meg Rubino lives in Kitty Hawk with her husband and two children. She graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Art. After teaching elementary school for 4 years, she returned to East Carolina to receive a second degree in Art Education with a focus in studio art. She moved to the Outer Banks in 2003. The natural beauty of the Outer Banks motivated her to pursue her true passion, painting. She is inspired by the “little things” and trys to capture the beauty of her every day. She paints many local landscapes, attempting to convey the good feelings they bring. Meg also loves painting surfers and all that goes along with the soulful sport. She appreciates the call to be in the moment and find a surfers’ passion (and obsession) moving! Meg paints in watercolor and acrylic and tends to apply her mediums boldly.
“I hope my pieces make you feel good and inspire you to embrace the little joys you experience daily!” – Meg Rubino
